Giving Season At Lake Las Vegas

Giving Season At Lake Las Vegas

Every season is giving season at Lake Las Vegas

’Tis the season(s) of giving back! Lake Las Vegas Resort will continue community philanthropy this holiday season with the third-annual Lake Las Vegas Live Dasco Sweater Drive.

Members of the community will have the opportunity to donate new or gently used sweaters, coats and jackets at drop-off locations throughout the community, beginning Nov. 23—the day of the Christmas Tree Lighting—through New Year’s Eve. All proceeds benefit Las Vegas Rescue Mission.

“Southern Nevada is a tight-knit community and we are proud to be a part of it,” says Andy Gil, marketing and client relations director for Lake Las Vegas. “Taking care of our neighbors is what we are supposed to do.”                                                                                                                                             The sweater drive will cap off what has been a successful year of giving back at Lake Las Vegas. In addition to the annual $20,000, in-kind donation of the Lake Las Vegas marina for the Rose Regatta benefiting Dignity Health—St. Rose Dominican’s R.E.D. (Responsible Early Detection) Rose Program—October also brought “Pinktober” to the community in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and those affected by breast cancer. Residents gave back in a month-long round-up program at Seasons Grocery & Deli, along with other businesses, and then“Pinktober” ended with a bang: the “Dance To Be Fit” fundraiser that brought together dancing, charitable giving and pink costumes in one unforgettable celebration.

Lake Las Vegas also recently sponsored the 2019 LVMPD K9 Trials and streamed the events live on Lake Las Vegas’ Facebook page and website to allow those who couldn’t be there to see the incredible work of these officers and their K9s.

Earlier this summer, Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada—in its “Summer of Wishes” charitable campaign—received a $15,000 donation from Lake Las Vegas to fund children’s wishes by creating experiences for recipients.

Finally, during Lake Las Vegas Days in May, residents and guests supported multiple local non-profits including Safe House and the local Giving Store; K-9 units from Las Vegas Valley departments at our annual Pulte Pet Parade and Pet Scene Magazine Pet Fair; and the Ogden Family Foundation received $10,000 at the Lake Las Vegas Days Food & Wine Celebration toward its efforts in assisting local school programs.

Thank you for supporting non-profit organizations in our community!
